Keith Haney Racing Opens 2025 Mid-West Drag Racing Series with Semi-Final Finish and Career-Best Performance in Slammers Category
Keith Haney Racing kicked off the 2025 Mid-West Drag Racing Series season with a strong showing, advancing to the semi-finals in the Slammers category and setting a new personal best in the process.
Piloting the Pat Musi-powered Camaro, Haney entered the event as the No. 6 qualifier with an impressive 3.6731-second pass at 206.14 mph. In the opening elimination round, Haney faced Mike Labbate and his turbocharged Pontiac Firebird. Haney gained an early edge with a razor-sharp .0057 reaction time to Labbate’s .0106. Unfortunately, around the 330-foot mark, an electrical issue caused the Camaro to hit the limiter, preventing the car from shifting into high gear.
Determined to make the most of the weekend, Haney transitioned into the Slammers category to gain additional seat time and ensure the electrical issues were resolved. In round one, he secured a win over Robert Costa with a 3.65-second run at 207.28 mph, edging out Costa’s 3.70 at 203.80.
In the semi-final round, Haney delivered a new career-best performance, posting a blistering 3.61 at 208.53 mph. However, his day ended with a red light at the starting line, cutting his weekend just short of a final-round appearance.
Keith Haney Racing will return to the track May 9–10 at the legendary Throwdown in T-Town, held at Tulsa Raceway Park.
