Snowbird Outlaw Nationals didn’t go quite as planned!

The Snowbird Outlaw Nationals didn’t go quite as planned for our team this past weekend. We opened the event with a solid test pass that gave us confidence heading into qualifying. However, with incoming weather on Sunday forcing schedule changes, Thursday testing was canceled and we went straight into qualifying, no big deal.

Throughout qualifying we battled severe tire shake and the car simply wasn’t responding to the adjustments we made. In the final qualifying session, things finally started to look promising with a .910 60-foot time, putting us on track for our first career 3.5x run. Unfortunately, just past 60 feet, the tire shake returned and ultimately brought our weekend to an early end.

We’re bringing the Black Mamba back to the shop for a full analysis and reset. We’ll be ready for the second race of the Drag Illustrated Winter Series, January 22–24, with a few surprises along the way!
