Keith Haney Enjoys Successful Weekend at Throwdown in T-Town, Balancing Racing and Family Milestones

Keith Haney Enjoys Successful Weekend at Throwdown in T-Town, Balancing Racing and Family Milestones!

It was a special hometown weekend for Keith Haney and the Black Mamba crew as they competed at Tulsa Raceway Park during the second stop of the Mid-West Drag Racing Series tour. Haney came off the trailer strong, posting a solid 3.724-second elapsed time in the first qualifying session—securing a position in the top half of the field.

Haney raised eyebrows in the second qualifying session with an impressive 3.663-second run, earning the provisional No. 1 qualifying spot heading into Saturday morning’s final round. “We lost a few numbers on that run due to traction control,” Haney explained. “The car hiked the wheels up and pulled some timing. That pass should have been about a 3.64.”

After the final qualifying session, Haney secured the No. 2 spot after being bumper from the No. 1 spot by a razor-thin margin—just .001 of a second —setting the stage for a high-powered, all-nitrous matchup against Ryan Bush in the first elimination round.

At the starting line, Bush jumped early and went red, handing Haney the automatic round win. Haney shut off early, coasting to a 4.490-second pass. Immediately after his win, Haney and the crew made a quick turnaround—rushing back to the pits, then heading to a nearby airport to fly to Oklahoma City for a very special occasion: attending his daughter Madison’s graduation, where she received her Master’s degree.

Keith Haney Racing will return to competition in just a few weeks at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan, for the next MWDRS stop—Throwdown in M-Town.
